The SMART Program

The SMART Approach was developed by Curtis Dean Hall in 2002. It is a complete mind-body-spirit approach to reducing stress. The three pillars of the program are: 1. Conscious breathing (the way in which the body breathes) 2. Mindfulness (the way in which the mind breathes) 3. Prayer (the way in which the spirit breathes) The SMART program was researched at Friends University with positive outcomes. Dean has found the more stressful your situation or occupation, the better it works! Dean has used it with corporate executives, nurses and teachers... all with great success. Originally a six-week program, it can be successfully implemented as a 1 or 2-day seminar, at retreats or as a self-study program at home.
